NBA and PBA betting in the Philippines

Yes, you can bet on the NBA and the PBA from the Philippines on Gamting, and your stake and payout are both counted in pesos. Open the sportsbook, tap a game, choose a market and type your ₱ amount. Lines open before tip-off, and lots of games keep taking bets once the ball is up.

That's the short version. Below is the longer one for the fan who wants to understand the markets, knows the Manila clock never matches the American one, and wants the whole thing to stay fun. You have to be 18 or older to bet.

When the games land on Manila time

Most NBA games start in the evening in the States, which drops them into our morning. A 7:30 PM tip in New York reads 8:30 AM in Manila for most of the regular season, then 7:30 AM after the US moves its clocks forward in March. Games out West come later. A 10:00 PM start in Los Angeles is early afternoon here, so the office crowd ends up checking scores during lunch break.

The regular season runs from late October into April, and the playoffs carry on into June. We print every start time in Philippine Time (PHT, UTC+8) on the board, so there's no adding and subtracting on your side.

The PBA keeps a friendlier schedule for us. Games are mostly in the late afternoon and evening, often as doubleheaders at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao or the PhilSports Arena in Pasig, with the odd out-of-town date in the provinces.

Reading an NBA line without a headache

Three markets cover most of what people bet on a basketball game.

  • Moneyline (match winner). Pick who wins, overtime included. Heavy favourites pay little. Underdogs pay more because they win less often.
  • Handicap, also called the spread. The favourite starts with points taken away and the underdog gets points added. If the Warriors are -6.5 and win by 7, a bet on them wins. If they win by 6, it loses, even though they won the game.
  • Total points (over/under). You're betting on the combined score of both teams against a line like 228.5. Team defence, pace and who's sitting out all push the total up or down.

Depending on the game, there can also be lines on one quarter, one half or a single team's score. The menu changes from fixture to fixture, so open the game and see what's actually listed instead of assuming.

A peso example

Say you put ₱500 on the Celtics to win at decimal odds of 1.80. If they win, you get ₱900 back: your ₱500 plus ₱400 profit. If they lose, the ₱500 is gone. Multiply stake by odds and you have the full return, which your bet slip also shows before you confirm.

The PBA is a different animal

Betting the PBA feels nothing like betting the NBA, mainly because you know these teams far better. You've seen Ginebra come back from double digits with the crowd losing its mind, and you know how San Miguel or TNT can grind a series down. That knowledge helps you read a game. It can also make you bet with your heart. Kung Ginebra fan ka, alam mo na.

Three things are worth checking before you place a PBA bet:

  1. Which conference it is. The Philippine Cup is all-Filipino. The Commissioner's Cup and the Governors' Cup allow imports, and one good import can change a team's entire shape from one conference to the next.
  2. Where the series stands. The semifinals and finals usually go best-of-seven, so dropping Game 1 doesn't end anything. Prices move after every game of a series.
  3. How packed the schedule is. Back-to-back games hit older rosters harder, especially when the veterans are carrying most of the load. A team on its third game in five days can look flat by the fourth quarter.

Betting while the game is on

In-play is where basketball gets fun. The lines refresh as the score changes, so a 12-point run in the third quarter can turn a long-shot price into one you'd actually consider. After a big play, a market can pause for a moment while prices update. If your slip comes back with new odds, read them again before you tap confirm. Nobody needs a surprise at 9:00 AM. Ever.

Gilas windows and FIBA nights

When Gilas Pilipinas plays, the whole group chat turns into coaches. FIBA qualifying windows and the FIBA Asia Cup put national team games on the board, and the 2023 World Cup, which the Philippines co-hosted with Japan and Indonesia, showed how loud this country gets for hoops. Puso is great on the court. On a bet slip, keep a calmer head than your tito on Facebook.

Funding the account in pesos

Your balance is in PHP from the day you open the account. Top-ups are crypto only, USDT on TRON or USDC on Polygon, and the amount shows as pesos at the rate you see before you send. Our USDT and USDC deposit guide goes through every tap.

Your first deposit brings a ₱100 welcome bonus and a first-deposit bonus, both added on their own with no code. A deposit during the daily Happy Hours window (local time) can get up to 50% extra. If you like hunting codes, our Telegram channel posts one every hour for whoever claims it first. Make a deposit first, then enter it in the bonus code box on your account dashboard within 15 minutes. It's optional. All the conditions sit on the Philippines promotions page.

Keep it a hobby

Pick a weekly amount you're fine losing and stop there, even when your team is on a tear. Don't chase a bad Sunday with a bigger bet on Monday morning. If betting stops feeling like entertainment, our responsible gambling page explains how to slow down and where to get help.

Common Questions

Can I bet on a PBA game that's already started?

Often, yes. Many PBA and NBA games stay open after tip-off, with prices that change as the score moves. Not every game or market is offered in-play, so open the fixture in the sportsbook and look for the live markets. If a line pauses after a big basket, wait for it to reopen and read the new odds before you confirm.

What does -4.5 next to a team name mean?

That's the handicap. The team needs to win by 5 points or more for your bet to win. A +4.5 team can lose by up to 4 points and the bet still wins. The half point is there so a push can't happen. It's a way to make a lopsided game closer to an even bet on both sides.

Does overtime count in NBA bets?

For full-game moneyline, handicap and totals, overtime is usually included in the final score. Quarter and half bets settle on that period only, so overtime has no effect on them. Rules can differ by market, so tap the market name or check the bet slip details if you're not sure how a particular line settles.

Is there a minimum stake for basketball bets?

There's a minimum per bet, and the bet slip shows it in pesos as soon as you add a selection. Your account currency is PHP, so you're never working in dollars. Start small while you learn how handicaps and totals behave, and keep the amount inside the weekly budget you set for yourself.

Can I combine NBA and PBA picks on one slip?

Usually you can build a multi with selections from different leagues, as long as the markets allow it. All legs have to win for the slip to pay, and the odds multiply together. Bigger potential return, bigger chance of losing. Some related selections from the same game can't be combined, and the slip will tell you.
