When Is Bangladesh's Tour of South Africa 2026? Schedule and Times
Bangladesh's tour of South Africa runs from 15 November to 13 December 2026: two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is. The 1st Test starts at the Wanderers in Johannesburg on Sunday 15 November at 2:00 PM Bangladesh time (10:00 AM in South Africa), and the ODIs start at 5:30 PM Bangladesh time. The squads haven't been named yet, so this page will be updated once the BCB announces them.
What is the full Bangladesh vs South Africa 2026 schedule?
Cricket South Africa confirmed the fixtures as part of its 2026-27 home summer, and the ICC published the same dates and grounds. We then took the start times from the Gamting Scores fixture feed and converted each one with a time zone library, so the Bangladesh and India columns already allow for the four-hour gap with South Africa.
| Match | Date | Venue | SA time | Bangladesh time | India time |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1st Test | Sun 15 - Thu 19 Nov | Wanderers, Johannesburg | 10:00 AM | 2:00 PM | 1:30 PM |
| 2nd Test | Mon 23 - Fri 27 Nov | SuperSport Park, Centurion | 10:00 AM | 2:00 PM | 1:30 PM |
| 1st ODI | Tue 1 Dec | Buffalo Park, East London | 1:30 PM | 5:30 PM | 5:00 PM |
| 2nd ODI | Fri 4 Dec | St George's Park, Gqeberha | 1:30 PM | 5:30 PM | 5:00 PM |
| 3rd ODI | Mon 7 Dec | Newlands, Cape Town | 1:30 PM | 5:30 PM | 5:00 PM |
| 1st T20I | Thu 10 Dec | Kimberley Oval, Kimberley | 6:00 PM | 10:00 PM | 9:30 PM |
| 2nd T20I | Sat 12 Dec | Willowmoore Park, Benoni | 2:30 PM | 6:30 PM | 6:00 PM |
| 3rd T20I | Sun 13 Dec | SuperSport Park, Centurion | 2:30 PM | 6:30 PM | 6:00 PM |
South Africa doesn't change its clocks, and neither does Bangladesh, so the gap stays at exactly four hours for the whole tour. That's handy: add 4 hours to any South African time you see and you've got Bangladesh time.
What time do the Tests start in Bangladesh?
Both Tests start at 2:00 PM Bangladesh time, which means you'll get most of each day's play in your afternoon and evening. A normal Test day in South Africa runs into the late afternoon there, so the final session usually finishes around 9:30 PM in Dhaka. Rain, bad light or a slow over rate can push that later. We'd plan for a late finish on day one.
The 1st Test begins on a Sunday, 15 November, and runs to Thursday 19 November if it goes the full five days. After a three-day break the 2nd Test opens on Monday 23 November in Centurion. Both matches count towards the 2025-27 World Test Championship table for both sides.
When are the ODIs and T20Is?
The white-ball half starts on 1 December. That's four days after the 2nd Test is due to end. The three ODIs are day-night games that start at 5:30 PM Bangladesh time, so the second innings of each one goes past midnight in Dhaka.
The T20Is are bunched together at the end. The 1st T20I in Kimberley is the late one, starting at 10:00 PM Bangladesh time on Thursday 10 December. The last two are a weekend double header on 12 and 13 December, both starting at 6:30 PM Bangladesh time.
Here's a quick worked example of what that means for one evening. If the 3rd ODI at Newlands starts at 5:30 PM in Dhaka and the first innings takes about three and a half hours, the innings break comes at around 9:00 PM. The chase then starts around 9:45 PM and would end close to 1:15 AM on Tuesday morning in Bangladesh.
How has Bangladesh done in South Africa before?
If you've followed the Tigers for a while, you'll know the history here isn't kind. Bangladesh have toured South Africa for Tests four times, in 2002, 2008, 2017 and 2022, and lost all eight of those Tests. The 2022 visit included a 220-run defeat in Durban, where Bangladesh were bowled out for 53 in the second innings.
The white-ball record has one big exception. In March 2022 Bangladesh won the ODI series in South Africa 2-1, their first ever ODI series win there, finishing it with a nine-wicket win at Centurion.
| Format in South Africa | Bangladesh record before this tour |
|---|---|
| Tests | 8 played, 8 lost |
| Best ODI series | Won 2-1 (March 2022) |
| Last Test series | Lost 2-0 (2022) |
Which grounds will Bangladesh play at?
The tour covers seven grounds. That's a lot of travel for an eight-match trip. Johannesburg, Centurion and Benoni sit in the high-altitude Highveld, where the ball tends to carry and swing. East London, Gqeberha and Cape Town are on the coast, and Kimberley is in the Northern Cape.
- Wanderers, Johannesburg: 1st Test.
- SuperSport Park, Centurion: 2nd Test and 3rd T20I, the only ground used twice.
- Buffalo Park, East London: 1st ODI.
- St George's Park, Gqeberha: 2nd ODI. Bangladesh played a Test here in 2022.
- Newlands, Cape Town: 3rd ODI.
- Kimberley Oval: 1st T20I, the night game.
- Willowmoore Park, Benoni: 2nd T20I.
Has Bangladesh named its squad for South Africa?
Not yet. As of 30 October 2026, the BCB hasn't announced a Test, ODI or T20I squad for this tour, and Bangladesh are still playing West Indies at home (the 2nd Test in Sylhet runs from 5 to 9 November). We'd expect the Test squad after that series ends. When it's out, we'll add both squads here, and you can follow the current series in our Bangladesh vs West Indies Test series guide.
