What Time Are This Weekend's Premier League Fixtures in Nigeria?
This weekend is Premier League Matchweek 9, with ten games between Saturday 31 October and Monday 2 November 2026. In Nigeria the first match, Chelsea v Manchester United, kicks off at 1:30 PM WAT on Saturday, five games start together at 4:00 PM WAT, and Liverpool v Arsenal follows at 5:30 PM WAT on Sunday. The UK changed its clocks on 25 October, so every English kick-off is now one hour later in Lagos than the time printed in UK listings.
Below you'll find the full Matchweek 9 schedule in West Africa Time, the Super Eagles players we found in those club squads, and what changes after this round. Short version: if a UK site says 3pm, you're watching at 4pm.
Matchweek 9 kick-off times in WAT
We took every time below from the official Premier League fixture list, checked it against the BBC Sport fixtures page, and converted it from UK time to Lagos time with a time zone library rather than by hand. TV picks can still move a game, so it's worth a second look on Friday.

Updated live from Gamting Scores.
Saturday is the busy one. Eight of the ten games fall on it, spread over four slots: 1:30 PM, 4:00 PM, 6:30 PM and 9:00 PM. If you can only follow one block, the 4:00 PM window has five matches running at once, including Coventry City v Sunderland and Hull City v Ipswich Town. Sunday has a single game, Liverpool v Arsenal at Anfield, and the round closes on Monday night with Newcastle United hosting Everton at 9:00 PM.
Why UK listings now look an hour early
Nigeria stays on West Africa Time, UTC+1, all year. The UK doesn't. From late March to late October it runs on British Summer Time, which is also UTC+1, so a 3pm game in England was a 3pm game in Lagos. On Sunday 25 October 2026 the UK went back to Greenwich Mean Time (UTC+0).
So from this weekend until the UK moves its clocks forward again on Sunday 28 March 2027, you add one hour to any UK time you see:
- A 12:30 UK early game is 1:30 PM in Nigeria.
- The traditional 3pm Saturday slot is 4:00 PM WAT.
- A 5:30 PM evening game starts at 6:30 PM WAT.
- An 8pm Saturday or Monday game is 9:00 PM WAT.
Last Saturday's Matchweek 8 games were still on UK summer time. That's why a group chat screenshot from a week ago can catch you out now. Our football guide for Nigerian fans explains how this winter and summer gap works across the whole season, including the Champions League evening slots.
Super Eagles players in this weekend's squads
We counted seven Nigeria internationals in the current Premier League squad lists for clubs playing in Matchweek 9. Their clubs come from the official Premier League squad pages, and we checked each one against Nigerian and African transfer reporting. Being in a squad isn't the same as playing, though. Each club names its starting eleven about an hour before kick-off, so read the table as a guide to who could feature. It's not a team sheet.
| Player | Position | Club | Match this weekend | Kick-off (WAT) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ola Aina | Defender | Nottingham Forest | Brentford v Nottingham Forest | Sat 4:00 PM |
| Benjamin Fredrick | Defender | Brentford | Brentford v Nottingham Forest | Sat 4:00 PM |
| Frank Onyeka | Midfielder | Coventry City | Coventry City v Sunderland | Sat 4:00 PM |
| Taiwo Awoniyi | Forward | Coventry City | Coventry City v Sunderland | Sat 4:00 PM |
| Semi Ajayi | Defender | Hull City | Hull City v Ipswich Town | Sat 4:00 PM |
| Calvin Bassey | Defender | Fulham | Aston Villa v Fulham | Sat 9:00 PM |
| Alex Iwobi | Forward | Fulham | Aston Villa v Fulham | Sat 9:00 PM |
Two things stand out. Five of the seven are in the same 4:00 PM window, so if you're following the Super Eagles lot you'll have three games to keep an eye on at once. Brentford v Nottingham Forest could put Ola Aina and Benjamin Fredrick on the same pitch, if Fredrick, who has been working his way back from a knee injury, makes the Brentford matchday squad.
And Coventry City now carry two Super Eagles players. Frank Onyeka's move from Brentford became permanent after Coventry won promotion, and Taiwo Awoniyi joined them from Nottingham Forest in the summer, so Saturday's home game against Sunderland is the one with the most Nigerian interest on paper. Later that evening, Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi travel with Fulham to Villa Park for the 9:00 PM kick-off, the last game of the Saturday programme.
None of the four clubs playing on Sunday or Monday lists a Nigeria international in its current Premier League squad, so Liverpool v Arsenal and Newcastle v Everton are for neutral viewing this time.
What comes after Matchweek 9
You don't wait long for more football. European nights take over on Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 November, when the Champions League league phase continues with games in the 6:45 PM and 9:00 PM WAT slots. Matchweek 10 then opens on Friday 6 November with Everton v Coventry City at 8:00 PM UK time, which is 9:00 PM WAT, and runs into Sunday 8 November. That second weekend includes Arsenal v Hull City at 4:00 PM WAT on Saturday 7 November, so Semi Ajayi's Hull go to the Emirates a week after hosting Ipswich.
The one-hour gap stays the same for every Premier League round until late March 2027. Get the "UK time plus one" habit now and you won't need to think about it again until spring.
Following the weekend on Gamting Nigeria
On your Nigerian account, you'll find these Premier League matches in the sportsbook with the same kick-off times as above, already shown in local time. If you're new to the markets, the sports betting guide for Nigeria walks through how a slip is built before the first whistle.
Your balance is held in naira, and you fund it with crypto: USDT on the TRC20 network or USDC on Polygon. Send on the wrong network and the transfer can't be credited, so it's worth reading how to deposit USDT for a naira balance before Saturday rather than ten minutes before the 4:00 PM kick-offs. Withdrawal requests are reviewed, then sent to your wallet once approved. For anything else about your account, open a ticket from the support section once you're logged in.
