Football betting in Uganda: Premier League, Cranes and the UPL

Football betting from Uganda on Gamting runs on one shilling balance. Open the sportsbook, find your match, tap a price and type the stake in USh. The Premier League carries the longest market lists, Uganda Cranes fixtures show up once they're confirmed, and Uganda Premier League rounds sit on the same board. Every kick-off is listed in East Africa Time. Betting is for adults aged 18 and over.

Premier League kick-offs on a Kampala clock

England changes its clocks twice a year and we never do, so the gap moves. From the last Sunday of October to the end of March, Britain is on GMT, three hours behind us. Through the British summer the difference shrinks to two.

  • Saturday 3pm in England: 6pm EAT in the winter months, 5pm EAT once summer time starts.
  • The Saturday early game at 12:30pm: 3:30pm EAT in winter, 2:30pm in summer.
  • A weeknight 8pm game in England: 11pm EAT in winter, 10pm in summer.
  • Sunday's 4:30pm slot: 7:30pm EAT in winter, 6:30pm in summer.

Europe put its clocks back on 25 October 2026, so the six o'clock Saturday slot has returned. It's the one most of us plan an evening around, whether that's at home, at a bar in Ntinda or on a bench in a packed kibanda in Mukono with the generator going outside.

Champions League nights

The big European ties start at 9pm Central European Time. That means 11pm EAT from now until late March and 10pm EAT in the autumn and spring weeks when Europe is on summer time. The earlier games, at 6:45pm CET, land at 8:45pm EAT in winter. Late, yes, but the board stays open for in-play markets right up to the final whistle, so you don't have to commit to anything before kick-off.

The Uganda Premier League on the same board

When markets are offered for the local league, they appear under Uganda in the football menu. KCCA FC play at Lugogo, Vipers SC are based at St. Mary's Stadium in Kitende, and SC Villa hold more league titles than any other Ugandan club. Express FC, URA FC and BUL FC make the table harder to call than outsiders think.

Coverage of the UPL is thinner than for English games. You'll usually find fewer markets per match, and some fixtures are added closer to match day. If a game you expect isn't showing, search the club name rather than scrolling.

The Cranes and the road to AFCON 2027

Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania were awarded the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations together, and Mandela National Stadium in Namboole is the Cranes' home ground. Qualifiers and friendlies are added once they're scheduled. International breaks also pause the Premier League, which makes them a good weekend to read a market list you'd normally skip past.

Beyond England: the rest of the football menu

The Premier League gets most of the attention in Uganda, but it's far from the only league listed. La Liga, Serie A, the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 all run on weekends, and their evening games usually land between 9pm and 11pm EAT. Ugandan clubs also enter the CAF club competitions each season, and those ties are added when they're scheduled. During an AFCON or a World Cup, the tournament gets its own section, with group matches, knockout rounds and outright markets on the winner.

Smaller leagues tend to have fewer markets and lower maximum stakes than the big European ones. That's normal across the industry. If you only follow one or two competitions, mark them as favourites in the sportsbook so they sit at the top of the menu.

Placing a football bet, start to finish

  1. Log in, or open an account in Ugandan shillings.
  2. Choose Football, then the competition, then the match.
  3. Tap a price, and it's added to your slip.
  4. Type a stake in USh. The slip works out the possible return for you.
  5. Confirm. The bet sits in your history as open until the result is in.

Markets worth understanding

Match result

Home team, draw or away team. Settlement uses regular time plus whatever the referee adds on, so a cup tie that ends level and goes to penalties is a draw for this market.

Double chance

Two of the three outcomes on one ticket: home or draw, away or draw, home or away. The price is lower because you're covering more ground.

Total goals

Over or under a goal line, 2.5 being the common one. No match finishes with two and a half goals, so the bet always has a clear result.

Both teams to score

Yes means each side scores at least once. A 1-1 and a 3-2 both count. A 4-0 doesn't, however good it felt.

Correct score and goalscorer

Big prices, long odds of landing. Fine for a small stake on a game you care about, less sensible as the base of a weekly budget.

Accumulators

Several picks on one slip with the prices multiplied together. Every leg has to win. One wrong result out of ten Saturday games and the ticket is gone, which is why shorter accumulators tend to be easier to live with.

In-play, ball rolling

After kick-off, many markets stay open and prices move with goals, red cards and pressure. Should the odds shift before you've confirmed, you'll be shown the updated figure and can take it or leave it. Markets also lock for a moment around a goal or a VAR check, and that's normal.

Bonuses for a first football bet

A new account gets a USh 4,000 welcome bonus added automatically with the first deposit, together with a first-deposit bonus that also needs no code. Happy Hours runs once a day in local time, and a deposit made inside it can be boosted by up to 5%. For optional extras, watch Telegram: a code goes up hourly, claims are capped, first come first served, and you put it in the bonus code box on your account dashboard within 15 minutes after the deposit. The terms, wagering included, are on Uganda promotions.

Keep it part of the weekend

Settle on what a weekend of football is worth to you before Saturday, and stop there whatever the scores do. Don't chase a loss with a bigger stake. If betting stops feeling like part of the match, our responsible gambling page has the tools and contacts. For other sports see sports betting in Uganda, and if your account isn't funded yet, the stablecoin deposit guide covers it.

Common Questions

Is a Premier League match shown in Uganda time or UK time?

Every fixture on the sportsbook is listed in East Africa Time, so you read the start time as it is on your phone in Kampala. That matters because the gap with England changes twice a year. During the British winter it's three hours, and during their summer it's two, but the board already accounts for that.

Can I bet on KCCA, Vipers or SC Villa matches?

Yes, when markets are offered for a Uganda Premier League fixture, it appears under Uganda in the football menu. Expect a shorter list than for English games, often the match result, goals and a few others. Some rounds are added nearer to match day, so search for the club name if you can't find the game you want.

A UPL game got postponed. Is my bet lost?

Not necessarily. Each market has settlement rules, shown in its details, and a fixture that isn't played inside the stated period is commonly voided, with the stake returned to your USh balance. On an accumulator, the void leg usually drops out and the remaining selections stand at the reduced combined price, so the slip stays alive.

Do Cranes qualifiers get the same markets as the Premier League?

Not always. International fixtures involving Uganda are added once they're scheduled, and the number of markets depends on what's offered for that match. A big qualifier tends to have more options than a friendly. Check the match page itself for the full list, and remember that kick-off is shown in EAT.

Can I use the welcome bonus on football?

Yes. The USh 4,000 welcome bonus lands with your first deposit and can be used on the sportsbook as well as in the casino. Bonus money comes with wagering rules, including minimum odds for sports selections. The Uganda promotions page shows the current figures, so read them before you build a slip with bonus funds.
